Case #28

Problem

Lonnie had a total of 5 alcohol related convictions. He had attended Alcoholics Anonymous 12 times. He never had any outpatient treatment. Further complicating matters, he continued to drink after his last conviction.

Result

At the hearing, I provided the hearing officer with a favorable substance abuse evaluation, negative drug screen, and 5 letters of support. Lonnie testified to his sobriety and life changes which were consistent with his continued sobriety. I argued that he was entitled to a driver’s license.

Bottom line

The hearing officer agreed with my arguments and granted Lonnie a driver’s license.
